 It's Easy and It's Hard

  What do we tolerate?

I am not talking here about grace.  What do we, as Christians, tolerate and why?  Do we tolerate viewing things on a screen that we would never do? Do we tolerate things we hear even though we would never say them? Do we tolerate things because of peer pressure? Because our children fuss? Because it's easier?

We all have to decide for ourselves, based on our relationship with Jesus. When we know God's standards this is easy. It is also hard.  Easy to say, "Yes, I will never say this or that". Hard to ask someone else not to say it in your earshot or hard not to say it ourselves when we are angry.  Easy to say, "I will never do that".  Hard to decline the invitation to watch it on a screen with others.

The Christian life is easy and it's hard.  As our Pastor often says, "Will you choose the easier left or the harder right?".

"A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!"   Proverbs 15:23
