This site is an informational site started over 15 years ago and driven, then, by comments from parents who found it hard to locate homeschool evaluators. Things have changed much since then and Broward County Schools has a Home Education page, also with information and a list of local Home School Evaluators.
Their site is:
I, Rita Chamberlin, graduated from Cortland State University, New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. I have been doing Homeschool Evaluations since 1995 - our three children were homeschooled, K-12.
I now do many evaluations for families that have at least one homeschooled parent, who are now homeschooling their children. :)
I do in-person evaluations and remote evaluations ( since Covid), including Special Needs evaluations.. Many of us homeschool evaluators are parents who keep their teaching certificate active.
The Home School Support Groups listed on another page on this site also have a list of evaluators they recommend.
For those who are new to Homeschooling, check out all the links on the first page of this site. The public schools are responsible for the accountibility of the Annual Home School Evaluations you send in but do not remind you, nor is it their position to, that each year you, the parent, is required to have your child evaluated by a Florida Teacher with an active teaching certificate. It is due on or near the anniversary date of when you sent in your Notice of Intent to Homeschool. Please keep track of this annual requirement. :)
